Yoga has helped me in so many ways and profoundly changed my life. I started yoga in the mid 90s for physical pain and stress and immediately found that helped me deeply on so many levels. After practicing for 10 years I took the plunge and trained to become a teacher in 2006 in the hope that I could share what I love and the system of yoga - mind, body and spirit. I thought that if I could help at least one person like it has changed my life then it would be worth it.
I have gratitude for the incredible yogis that have shared teachings with me on my yoga journey. I have spent many months living in the California Redwoods completing 5 courses with Paul Grilley (the founder of yin yoga) and am honoured to be one of his few senior teachers.
Yin yoga is my passion and I believe everyone can practice and benefit from it on every level. This style of yoga encompasses mind, body and spirit and can be used on a therapeutic level and adapted to any body and needs.
My Yin Yoga training coming up in September encompasses all that I have learnt over the past 25 years as a student and teacher. What you will learn in this training you will not learn in other 200 hour courses. I believe that skeletal variation is a big blind spot in yoga today and it is imperative that a Yin teacher have this anatomical knowledge of how vastly different we all are and our ultimate range of motion is always determined by the bones. In many cases the variations can be vastly different. Even within our small group on the course we will find great differences.
Join me in September to gain a deep understanding of your own unique body, fascia, anatomy, meridians, chi and how to adapt Yin Asanas for any body, injuries or limitations. I would love to share with you my passion for Yin Yoga.
Om Namaste,
Daphne Luke
