New to Golden Yogi! we have a mixed soul circle event happening once a month starting this October 9th as a special introductory offering, this one will be on a sliding scale price. Thereafter from November the price is $33 per person.
Friday, 9th October | 6.00–8.00 pm
We are living in times that ask a lot of us. The pace of modern life, global uncertainty, and the constant demands on our energy have left many feeling disconnected from ourselves, from others, and from a deeper sense of inner peace.
Soul Circle was created in response to this need.
A warm, nurturing, and inclusive monthly gathering open to everyone men and women, all genders, all nationalities, all walks of life. Adults 18 and over are warmly invited.
It is time for men and women to come together in healing releasing the divide and the fear of our differences, and embracing what we share at our soul level. We are all here on this earth journey, navigating many of the same experiences. At our core we are far more alike than we are different. When we heal together, we heal more wholly.
This is a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you are welcome to be heard and to share at whatever level feels right for you. No one will try to fix you here. This is a self-empowered space that honours each person's individual journey offering gentle guidance and practical new tools to support your mental and emotional wellbeing in everyday life.
Each month may include a gentle combination of:
Mindfulness practices and guided meditation
Self-care and discovery journaling prompts
Open discussion and compassionate listening
Calming movement and breath
Presence, observation, understanding and acceptance
Practical tools to take home and use between sessions
Regular intentional pauses like these support stress and anxiety relief, emotional regulation, improved mental clarity, a sense of belonging, greater self awareness, and renewed energy and resilience.
Whether you are navigating stress, seeking genuine connection, or simply ready to prioritise yourself — you are welcome here, exactly as you are.
No experience necessary. Simply come as you are.
After School Yoga at Golden Yogi
- With Y.E.S
Giving our young people space to breathe.
The school years can be exciting, challenging and sometimes overwhelming. Our children and teenagers are navigating enormous changes — discovering who they are, managing friendships, understanding their changing bodies and emotions, and finding their place in the world.
This is where yoga can offer something really valuable: a space to slow down, breathe, move and reconnect with themselves.
Golden Yogi is proud to partner with Yoga Education in Schools (Y.E.S.) to bring an inclusive, eight-week youth yoga programme to our studio in Takapuna.
Through gentle, breath-centred movement, young people learn practical tools to help them:
• Manage stress and anxiety
• Develop focus and awareness
• Build body confidence
• Connect with their bodies and emotions
• Develop resilience
• Feel more grounded and present
• Create simple practices they can use at home, at school and during challenging moments
The programme is inclusive, non-competitive, non-religious and respectful, welcoming different bodies, abilities and needs. There is no pressure to perform or achieve — simply an opportunity to learn, explore and feel more at home in themselves.

Yoga for Healthy ageing
- a beginners journey with Perry
Thursday, 29th October - 3rd December | 12.00–1.15 pm
A six-week introduction to yoga designed especially for beginners and those returning to movement later in life.
Whether you've never unrolled a mat or have practised for years, this course starts from the same place for everyone: the beginning.
This isn't yoga as a workout, and it isn't tied to any one style or tradition. Each session brings together gentle strength, mindful stretching, yoga philosophy and meditation, with the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda woven through our conversations. You'll move, you'll breathe, you'll rest, and you'll come to understand why we do what we do.
Perry has had over 35 years of experience, a background in Naturopathy and Ayurveda and can adapt postures, breathe exercises and relaxation techniques to what is needed - honouring where you are today and taking you forward from there.
The Journey
Week 1: The Yoga Breath
We begin gently, with a restorative session that returns us to the breath, the foundation of everything that follows.
Week 2: Yoga from the Ground Up
Our feet carry us through life, yet we rarely give them a thought. We'll discover how steady, awakened feet support the whole body.
Week 3: Standing Poses
Learning to stand tall, upright and free of tension, with strength that feels easy rather than effortful.
Week 4: The Stillness That Supports Movement
Exploring stability: the quiet, unmoving foundation that allows us to move with confidence and grace.
Week 5: Spinal Extension
Opening and lengthening the spine, gradually leading us into gentle, supported backbends.
Week 6: Forward Folds
Turning inward and exploring the grounding, downward movement of prana, a calming close to our six weeks together.
What you can hope to take home
A fresh perspective on your body and your practice
A deeper understanding of how each pose affects you
A sense that yoga is so much more than exercise
The confidence that yoga truly is for everyone
The importance of breath
Introduction to Traditional Tantric Meditation Workshop
With LadyFem
Thursday, 24th October | 12.30–3.00 pm
LadyFem grew up in Wellington, surrounded by bush and the sounds of nature. I moved north to Auckland 3 years ago and have nestled into a home in one of historic cottages in Devonport with my furbaby Luna.
It was during the stressful years of my early 20’s completing my university studies in Psychology and Sociology that I first found yoga and my embodiment journey really began. This initial introduction to yoga opened me up to the power of conscious movement, to the potency of harnessing the breath and becoming attuned to my body.
I first discovered meditation in my mid 20's at Glastonbury Music Festival, and I can still vividly recall the feeling of overwhelming bliss, joy and a sense of being connected with something more than self.
It took a little longer before meditation became a regular practice in my own life and since then, it has been one of the anchors which has allowed so many other things to flourish from. I went onto train as a Traditional Tantric Hatha Yogi, and these practices have had my heart since. I hold deep reverence for the teachings which have been passed down to us through the generations of wise souls who have come before.
Last year I completed a 1,000 day Sadhana and am an avid believer in the power of daily practice, and the magic which can unfold when we devote ourselves. Of how our lives have the ability to become more vibrant, easeful and joyful when we have the right tools to support ourselves.
It is my deep honour and privilege to share the teachings and practices which have been shared with me. Having had first hand experience of how these have the ability to fundamentally change life for the better, I’m excited to witness what they can do for you too.

Course Content:
Tantric Meditation, also called Kriya Meditation, is specifically designed for us householders - those of us who are out in the world, living relatively busy lives with typically busy minds.
If our goal is to thrive in life, then an empowered mind is essential. This is what Kriya meditation gives us. Instead of asking our mind to be still, we meet it where it’s at - in activity, and guide it with our breath along internal energetic pathways which begin the process of mental transformation. Through this process, the mind naturally begins to quieten, and as it quietens, we give it a meditation object to focus on in such a way that it becomes transformed by the positive qualities of this object. As we transform our mind, we create the capacity to expand our lives to live with more joy and less fear.
Join LadyFem for this 2.5 hour workshop as we learn the fundamentals of Tantric Meditation, practice together and leave you equipped to go on to create for yourself a mind which is more stable, calm and connected to your higher powers of intuition and discernment.
What you will learn:
What is Tantric meditation
How to skillfully prepare for meditation
Cultivate breath awareness
Build single pointed focus
A time tested practice which has been passed down to us through 1,000's of practitioners designed to create mental calmness, clarity and stability and connect us to our intuition and our higher powers of discernment
What’s included:
A 2.5 hour workshop on what meditation is, how to prepare for it and taking your seat as a meditation practitioner
Full Tantric meditation practice
A recorded practice to take home with you so you can continue to practice in the comfort of your own home
Who is this for:
If you have never meditated before
If you have meditated before but it hasn’t quite... landed

If you wish to step more fully into your life with a clear, calm and stable mind
Desire to cultivate more presence, intuition and single-pointed awareness
Breath-led Yoga & Sound Journey
With Ash & Merlin
Saturday 31st October | 3:00 - 5:00 pm
An evening of breath, awareness, deep listening & inner journey
This Halloween, join Ash & Merlin for a special two-part evening exploring the relationship between breath, body, sound and inner awareness.
We’ll begin with Ash, who will introduce the foundational principles of Vinyasa Krama Yoga — a traditional, breath-led approach to yoga rooted in the teachings of Krishnamacharya.
Through gentle movement, breath awareness and simple practices, you’ll learn how the breath can become a powerful guide for settling the nervous system, cultivating awareness and creating a deeper connection with the body.
You’ll also receive a take-home practice handbook, giving you simple breath and yoga practices to continue exploring at home.
From there, Merlin will guide you into Sound Journey — a space to slow down, soften, listen and travel within.
For over a decade, Merlin has been exploring the meeting point between healing, modernity, traditional teachings, music and the mysteries of being human. His path has moved through travel, ceremony, study, initiation, the ordinary rhythms of life and, above all, deep listening.
Music has been a constant companion through voice, instruments, rhythm and the spaces between sounds. His work is inspired by the wisdom of the elements and by finding balance between earth, water, fire and air: grounded in the ordinary, while remaining open to magic and wonder.
Merlin doesn’t offer answers. Instead, he invites you to listen closely and discover what nourishes you.
Through a blend of ancient and contemporary sounds, instruments, rhythm and intentional listening, you’ll be invited to lie down, breathe, receive and allow the sound to become a guide for your own inner journey.
There is nothing to achieve and nothing to figure out.
Simply breathe.
Listen.
Receive.
Allow yourself to rest, release, reconnect or simply experience a quiet moment away from the noise of everyday life.
Set your intention. Let the breath be your anchor. Let sound become your guide.
An evening to come home to yourself.
Spaces will be limited for this immersive evening.
