Background: Originally from Oxfordshire, UK, I discovered yoga at the age of 16, joining classes with my mother out of sheer curiosity. Growing up immersed in dance, I already had a strong connection to my body and movement, which naturally drew me to yoga.
Upon moving to Sydney in 2014, I quickly embraced the vibrant atmosphere of Bondi. Alongside my work in childcare, I explored various yoga studios, indulging in daily practice and encountering a diverse range of teaching styles and mentors.
My journey then took me to New Zealand, where I completed my 200 & 300-hour trauma-informed teacher training between 2020 and 2022. For the past three years, I've been dedicated to sharing my passion for yoga, specialising in slower practices like yin, restorative, and yoga nidra.
Why I practice: When I step onto the mat, each time is a new journey, an opportunity to check in with myself and connect deeply with my body and mind. Yoga provides me with a sacred space to step away from the busyness of life and quiet the mind. It is a time for introspection, where I can process my thoughts and emotions, seeing things clearly for what they are. Through this practice, I find a spiritual connection with myself, fostering inner peace and balance. Yoga is not just a physical exercise for me; it is a way to nurture my soul, gain insight, and cultivate a sense of inner calm and clarity that I carry with me off the mat and into my daily life.
Why I teach: I teach yoga to hold space for others, offering them time to reset and connect with themselves. It's a practice that keeps me grounded, reminding me of the simple yet profound ways we can support each other's growth. In each session, my focus is on creating an environment where students feel empowered to explore their own paths, free from judgment or expectation. Teaching yoga allows me to witness the beauty of individual journeys intertwining, reminding me of the collective strength we share in our pursuit of peace and self-discovery.
