PRENATAL COURSE DETAILS
Learn how to specialise in this popular area and run your own prenatal yoga classes.
This Bliss Baby Prenatal Weekend Intensive is fun, practical and packed with information to help launch you into the growing field of teaching pregnant students.
This weekend intensive is designed to equip you with the specialised knowledge, confidence and a comprehensive ‘tool kit’ of appropriate asanas (postures) and practices for safely teaching women during all stages of pregnancy, as well as to help them prepare for birth and beyond.
In this 20 hour intensive weekend training, you will emerge with the foundational knowledge to teach pregnant women yoga safely and appropriately. The following subjects will be covered:
- The three trimesters - psycho-physiological changes to mum and baby
- Birth: stages of labour; preparing a woman for a 'yogic', empowered birth
- "The Golden Rules" - safety guidelines for prenatal students
- Sequencing for prenatal yoga - the 5 prenatal posture groups
- Prenatal yoga therapy/ applied Anatomy & Physiology: back problems & pelvic instabilty during pregnancy; other common prenatal complaints
- Pelvic floor & squatting
- Working with props to modify for various stages of pregnancy
- Prenatal Restorative Yoga
- Prenatal partner yoga
- Pranayama for pregnancy and birth
The Intensive modules are suitable for yoga teachers and teacher trainees, and anyone who works in women’s health related fields, or anyone interested in finding out more about the benefits and applications of yoga pre and post natally.
The cost for this 20 hour weekend intensive is $550* (NZ Dollars) and includes a comprehensive course manual & DVD.

Attendance of the weekend modules provides Continuing Education hours with Yoga Alliance.
Registrants of our weekend modules will receive a Completion Certificate and will be able to use the course hours to accrue these necessary professional development hours, as well as to gain the all-important knowledge and skills to launch them into this specialized area of women’s health.
YOUR COURSE FACILITATOR ~ Our lovely Jennifer Allen
Jennifer Allen is an E-RYT 500/RPYT certified instructor and teaches a variety of classes around Auckland in Purna Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Pre and Postnatal Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Pilates on the mat and reformer. In addition to facilitating on the Bliss Baby Trainings, Jennifer also works as a teacher trainer on the Byron Yoga Centre 200 hour level 1 teacher training courses, and is the founding director of Jayayoga teacher training.
As mother to 2 beautiful pre-schoolers, Jennifer has experienced first-hand the many benefits of a regular yoga practice to support her through the amazing journey of pregnancy, birth and motherhood - and loves to share her knowledge and experience.
