Background: I was born in Mexico but mainly grew up in Canada. I met my Kiwi husband whilst living in Japan. I trained & worked as an Outward Bound Instructor in Australia when I was 30yrs old. My son was born whilst we lived in Thailand. There, I walked into my first ever Kundalini Yoga class – the postures were so “out there” I thought the teacher had forgotten and hence just “invented” the postures in the moment – the effects I got though were fabulous – I’ve never looked back!
Why I practice: When my son was a baby, and I was unwell and had time for myself, I discovered that going to Kundalini Yoga classes gave me the “biggest bang for my buck”. It brought back my health, increased my ability to “get out of my own way” and intuit the “right” actions to take in my life, it gave me a sense of “flow” and made me a more patient and loving mother…. I decided I wanted this in my life forever…and so I practice and now teach! As I continue to notice these increasingly positive results in my life, I continue to challenge myself to learn and grow my practice.
Why I teach: For me Kundalini Yoga, is one of the most transformational technologies I have come across and I love working with people in that sacred space of personal transformation. I believe that in our modern fast paced world, it can bring us balance and guidance and I feel that it is my duty to “pay it forward”.
